Before starting the Contour Fitness – Mumma Bump Fit mum and baby exercise classes I felt like I was never going to lose my baby weight.

George, who runs the sessions, is always encouraging and supportive making sure I am doing the exercises correctly so I don’t do myself any harm.

Since joining I have lost the weight off my hips like I wanted to and I feel and look more toned.

Before starting the small group post natal exercise classes run by George I had a bad pregnancy and was unable to exercise, I was so unfit and didn’t know what exercises from my previous regime were safe to do postnatally.

I was worried that the sessions might be like some other sessions I have seen where the concentration is just on losing the baby weight, rather than what is safe and best to heal my body ready to get back into my old exercise regime once it was safe to do so.

Every week I have seen small progress, and I’ve pushed myself further and I’m proud of how far I have come from when I first started. The women in the sessions come with different goals and George makes sure to do what he can to help them achieve those goals. For me, I want to build my strength and fitness levels to be better and use heavier weights than I was able to pre-pregnancy and George has encouraged me to do so in a safe and effective way. I have loved every session, even if some of them have made me sore for days after!

When I first started it felt like a struggle to finish the circuits even when using the lighter weights. My shoulders have always been one of my weakest areas and when I first started I struggled to shoulder press 4kg. Last week George saw that the 6kg was too easy for me and had to get the 8kg weights. To be able to double the weight I first used on an area I already struggled with was a massive achievement for me.

I’m so glad that I found George’s sessions as soon as I did! He has helped me in the process of building my fitness levels back up and I’m so grateful for everything he has taught me about strengthening my pelvic floor and bringing my stomach muscles back together. I love that George mixes the exercises up and every week is different so you don’t get bored. I can’t think of anyway the sessions could be improved!

I had already started to do some exercise on my own after giving birth, but I needed motivation and support to strengthen my core. I needed some routine.

Going to George’s exercise sessions has been fun and motivating. I like that there is always something new and different and that there is a lot of positive energy. I enjoy the flexibility and communication and it feels easy to ask questions without being judged or pushed in a negative way.

I feel that without George I wouldn’t have pushed myself and with him I get out of my comfort zone which is where I have got results. Now, I am back to my pre pregnancy weight and my core is strong.

After having my baby I was struggling with my back as I had lost all the muscles in my stomach due to C-Section.

Before starting the mum and baby exercise sessions George, of Contour Fitness – Mumma Bump Fit, runs I wasn’t sure I would benefit from a group class in case the instructor didn’t have time to check I was doing exercise positions correctly.

It has been brilliant working with George. He is really easy to get along with, he knows what he is talking about, the session sizes are small which means George has plenty of time to check on you and he knows how to push you to do better without causing any hormonal meltdowns.

Now I have built my strength back up, my waist is noticeably smaller and I am back into the routine of exercise which I lacked during pregnancy.

I was unsure what exercises were safe to do following the birth of my son but I didn’t really have any reservations about starting the classes. I just wanted to start exercising again.

I really enjoyed George’s (Mumma Bump Fit) classes. Each week was different and I always went away feeling like I had a good workout! It was brilliant being able to bring my son along to the classes also. It was nice to see how relaxed George was if the babies played up at all, and he was always on hand to give them a cuddle so us mums can continue to work hard.

The best part was that I knew I was exercising safely following pregnancy and the birth of my son and also ensuring I continue to exercise safely whilst breastfeeding.

I was very unfit after too many packets of biscuits when pregnant and wanted to slim down and regain some energy after having my little girl.

Before I started I was worried as I’ve always found exercise classes intimidating and I was concerned about bringing Emily along.

The sessions are great and George of Contour Fitness – Mumma Bump Fit is very encouraging. I enjoy the variety of exercises and the adjustments to each level of fitness. It is also great how George will pick up the babies when needed and it’s nice to meet other mums.

The best thing I have got from the sessions is increased confidence and that I can do exercise and enjoy it and my baby weight is gone.

Before I started the post natal exercise sessions with George of Contour Fitness – Mumma Bump Fit I had a bad core and posture, back pain all the time and I hadn’t exercised other than walking in well over a year.

Prior to starting I was worried that the sessions would put too much pressure on me, that they would be too difficult and that there would be a problem with my twin girls being happy in the class.
I didn’t need to worry. It’s been excellent training with George. It has really helped me with the back pain. I now have none other than having a particularly hard night with the twins. I feel more toned and rejuvenated to start exercising properly again.

I’d say the best thing I got from the sessions is that my posture and back pain have really improved which has given me back the feeling of “can do” generally, especially after a tough year with the twins mostly on my own.

When I came to George I was about 2-3 months post natal and struggling to lose any baby weight. I also felt very unfit and unhealthy as I was eating a lot of junk food!

Before I started the Post Natal Small Group Exercise Sessions I was worried I would find the sessions too hard.

The classes are set at each individual’s pace and you are encouraged to push yourself but not forced which creates a really good atmosphere and makes you want to do more. George knows exactly what postnatal women need in terms of both physical activities and motivation! It has been hard at times to find the energy to go to the class but once you are there you forget that and I really enjoy it.

I am now back to my pre pregnancy weight which is a huge achievement for me. I feel healthier and fitter and happier!

After my pregnancy I felt pretty grim. Lacking self confidence and struggling to pick the girls up without my back hurting.

Before I started the sessions I was worried as I don’t like talking to new mums about the girls’ start in life and that they were so early. I feel (less and less so) a bit like an outsider and a failure and find it hard to bond with parents with one child. I was worried I’d be the most unfit and unattractive in the class.

George has made me feel FAB! I feel so much better physically and mentally. I am constantly gaining strength and I feel much fitter. I look forward to every class because I know it will be hard work focussing just on me. George is so patient and never makes anyone feel bad for being tired or not being able to do the exercise right or when he has to tell me how to do the same thing for the 100th time.

I’m feeling that every week that I am getting stronger and getting my waist back and feeling like a person rather than just Elsie and Flossie’s mum.

I really recommend the sessions and when you get there speak with the other mums as it is likely they are in the same boat as you. I really enjoy the ladies who attend because the class isn’t about meeting up for coffee and cake and having a natter about how hard parenting is, we all know its hard but we are all there to work and improve ourselves.

I WAS KEEN TO GET BACK TO EXERCISE BUT WASN’T SURE WHAT WAS SAFE – I HAVE FUN IN THE SESSIONS AND MY DIASTASIS RECTI HAS IMPROVED AND MY CORE IS STRONG

I used to do a lot of exercise before and during my pregnancy. However, after the birth of my second son, I was keen to get back into exercising but wasn’t sure what I could do safely in the post natal period.

I didn’t have any reservations about joining Mumma Bump Fit. I have found the sessions to be really fun and I feel like I have had a good workout by the end. Sometimes Charlie can be upset but he seems to settle as soon as George picks him up allowing me to get on with the exercises. I have found that the corrections and advice George gives during the session has allowed me to get the best out of them and feel like I have had a great workout by the end. This seems to set me up for the week and allows me to be more active generally, getting slowly back to my pre pregnancy fitness.

My best result is an improvement in my diastasis recti following advice from George to allow healing to happen and feeling like my core is getting strong again.

Before starting the Mumma Bump Fit post natal sessions I felt very unfit and got out of breath walking up stairs.

I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the others all the time. But I didn’t need to be worried. I always have brain blanks and being able to ask for help really boosts my confidence making the sessions enjoyable.

Now exercise is fun for the first time in my life. I’ve enjoyed something I have never liked and even if I am still a bit unfit I feel healthier and started to see the benefits straight away.

I can run up the stairs without getting out of breath. I haven’t lost any weight yet but I feel my muscles are more toned.

After my pregnancy I felt tired, eating loads of rubbish and generally feeling rubbish. Because I was tired I was worried that exercising would be hard especially with a crying baby.

The post natal sessions have been great, I have learnt how to strengthen my core and hope to be able to continue at home. I have also learnt that exercising makes you feel better even when you are exhausted.

George was really motivational and the sessions are always different which stopped me getting bored.

Before starting the Mumma Bump Fit post natal sessions I had no confidence and no core strength but I had no reservations about starting.

Working with George has been absolutely fantastic. I am so pleased I saw the Facebook advert and decided to come along and try a free taster session.

I love the small group sessions so you get more attention than a normal gym class. The sessions and exercises are tailored to each individuals needs. George is very attentive to all mums and the babies of needs be which is very refreshing. It’s great to see someone actually care about you and your progress as you don’t always feel very important after having a baby. These sessions have helped me look after myself both physically and mentally.

The best thing about the sessions is that I am improving core strength. Still a way to go yet but I am on the right track thanks to George.

After having Earl I’d lost confidence in my body and it’s abilities after stopping training and exercising to the extent I would usually do (when not pregnant). I felt weak and wobbly.

Before I started the post natal sessions I thought it might be a bit tame. Not challenging enough and dare I say a tad mumsy.

The sessions have been fantastic. Each class is slightly different. You can challenge yourself in the confidence that you have an eye to ensure form is good so not to injure yourself. The stretches have been spot on to counter cradling a baby whilst carrying and feeding. I now do them daily and no longer feel all twisted. I also feel stronger and have regained confidence in my body. I have had some birth recovery issues which I have been able to speak with George about without it being weird or embarrassing!!!

The best bit is that it’s put me on track to achieve wider goals around a healthy active lifestyle and generally feel more body confident.

I didn’t know if I would be able to do a class with a new born.

Joining Mumma Bump Fit has been fantastic, it’s fun, but hard work and so friendly. I love I can bring Elijah with me. I have tried the gym and crèche with my first baby but didn’t concentrate on exercise worrying about him. Plus I love have an instructor to keep me focussed to get the most out of the 45 mins.

I WAS VERY UNFIT AND OVERWEIGHT, LACKING MOTIVATION. I’D NEVER BEEN ABLE TO STICK WITH ANY GYM MEMBERSHIPS – I’VE LOST LOADS OF WEIGHT, PEOPLE ARE COMMENTING AND I FEEL PHYSICALLY FITTER

Prior to starting sessions with George, I was very unfit & overweight but lacking any motivation to do anything about it. Having been a member of loads of gyms before I’d never been able to stick to any exercise and have tried pretty much every diet going – but not for very long!

My biggest reservation was that I wouldn’t be able to do the training and that I would then give up, feel worse and like I’d failed again, but George was and is able to pitch it at the right level so that it’s never felt totally unachievable and I’ve never felt any sense of failure. I also worried that someone who was a trainer and physically fit wouldn’t understand what it’s like to be unfit and have weight issues, but this was definitely unfounded.

Working with George had really changed how I think about both exercise and food. It’s been much more “all round” than I had expected – I’d assumed I’d just be doing some training but George has also made me think a lot more about my diet in a much healthier way than being “on a diet”. Reviewing a food diary and at the start texting him this each night was really helpful to make me consciously think about what I was eating. In the training George definitely pushes me more than I would ever push myself, but does this in a really encouraging (and patient) way.

I started this for the result of weight loss which has definitely happened, and people commenting on this is really motivating and a great result. However, over time I’m getting more satisfaction from seeing results in what I can achieve and being physically fitter – for me the best example is going from standing in front of the box trying to do step ups and having no idea how to even get my legs to do it, to now being able to do them whilst holding weights.

I really like that every session is different and isn’t doing the same thing for a long period of time so I’ve never got bored in the same way I have previously at gym classes. Setting specific goals to achieve has also been really good for me to have something to focus on.

MY BABYWEIGHT WAS COMING OFF TOO SLOWLY, MY CORE WAS WEAK & I HAD ACHES AFTER BABY NO.2. I WANTED EXERCISE SUITABLE FOR MY POST BABY BODY – THE BABYWEIGHT IS GONE, MOY CORE FEELS STRONGER & MY BACK DOESN’T HURT ANYMORE.

I was 3 months post natal after baby number 2. The baby weight was starting to come off (albeit more slowly than I’d have liked), but my core felt weak and I had some aches and pains from breast-feeding.

I wanted to make sure I was doing exercise that was appropriate for my post-baby body and that I wasn’t doing more harm than good.

It has been brill working with George 🙂 It is obvious he really know his stuff and I feel confident that I’m rebuilding my strength in a safe and effective way. As the groups are small, I’m getting more out of each exercise than I have in other classes (those little tweaks to your form make all the difference).

My tummy is getting flatter and my abs are making an appearance again! Plus, the baby weight is
gone, my core feels stronger and my back doesn’t hurt any more. I’m really glad I decided to give
the post natal exercise sessions a try.

With a 5 month old son I struggled to work out as much as I’d liked & suffered with diastasis so was unsure what I should & shouldn’t be doing. Before I started the post natal sessions I suffered with a bad back & I was anxious about making my back worse but I thought I’d give them a try. I have thoroughly enjoyed each week working with George. I have learnt a lot about the correct breathing, my core and numerous exercises to help tone my core without doing a million sit ups!

Each week is fun, though hard work and you feel well worked.

I realised I had been breathing wrong and I would say my best result is getting the breathing technique right (though it’s hard to choose just one result I got from the sessions!) I enjoyed the variety each week & I always felt I had worked all my body. I never worried about my little one’s mood coming to the sessions as George is also very friendly and helpful.”

Before I started the post natal small group personal training I had a lot of aches and pains from having a baby and felt quite unfit. I was worried I would not be able to do any of the exercises and/or keep up.

It has been brilliant working with George. I have back problems and George adapted the exercises to suit me. He always explains how to do the exercises and didn’t mind repeating himself several times for those of us with baby brain. When my baby got restless he was happy to pick them up and settle them so the Mummys could carry on exercising.

I would say the best result I have got from working with George is that my confidence is boosted and now know I am able to do the exercises that will help me.

I was really unfit before starting the post natal sessions and was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up. I thought I would be the most unfit in the room.

I really enjoyed the sessions and because the group size is limited to six I got plenty of individual support. George was so good with William (my boy) which meant I was able to focus on the exercise.

I WANTED TO EXERCISE AFTER HAVING MY BABY BUT WAS WORRIED I WAS TOO UNFIT & DID NOT WANT TO GET AN INJURY – GEORGE HAS HELPED ME GET FITTER, STRONGER & MORE IN TUNE WITH MY BODY

I started working with George when I was 4 months post-partum. I’d started some exercise on my own but was worried about causing any injury after a complicated birth. I was also after some impetus to improve my diet.

I had some reservations – I thought exercising with my son in the room would be difficult and I didn’t think I’d achieve much. I was also worried about the level of fitness required and whether training in a group would allow me to receive sufficient advice and help.

The process of working with George has been brilliant! His enthusiasm is catching and he seems genuinely interested in your achieving your goals. His support has been unwavering and even after a night of no sleep or when my baby is being particularly difficult, an hour in the studio makes me feel so much better. It’s hard not to feel positive around George.

My fitness has definitely improved during the course and I’m confident my core has strengthened. I feel more in tune with my body.

EXERCISING WAS GETTING TOO TRICKY AND I WANTED MY CORE STRENGTH BACK. I WAS WEARING MY MATERNITY JEANS AND HOLDING ONTO MY BABY WEIGHT AND I WAS OUT OF BREATH ON WALKS – MY STOMACH IS FLATTER AND MY ARMS AND LEGS ARE MORE TONED. MY CORE IS STRONGER AND I AM NO LONGER OUT OF BREATH ON WALKS

Before I started I had completed another fitness class until I was 5 months pregnant when everything was getting too tricky! My instructor recommended George to help get my fitness and core strength back following the birth of my baby. I was still wearing maternity jeans and holding on to all my baby weight and I was out of breath walking round the block with my dog while I wore my baby in his sling.

There seemed to be fear of the unknown amongst many Sheffielders! A man…teaching post natal sessions?!?! Any reservations were quashed at the first session when it became clear that George knew A LOT about the female body post pregnancy and I felt confident that the exercise plan would be safe and suitable for my body.

Each session is very well thought out and planned ahead of time and having regular exercises to complete at home was great, especially as there are youtube links to the exercises in case baby brain takes over! I have managed to make the diet advice work with small changes to my diet while still eating lots.

I’m no longer out of breath when I go walking and I’m able to walk longer and on tougher walks without a struggle. I can dead lift my baby over my head which he loves despite being a heavy boy now!! I’m still carrying some baby weight around my hips but my stomach is visibly flatter, my arms and thighs are more toned and I can feel my core strength has significantly improved.

I WANTED AN EXERCISE SESSION SPECIALLY FOR MY POST NATAL BODY WHERE MY BABY IS WELCOME – NOW MY CORE IS STRONG AND MY STOMACH IS BECOMING MORE TONED

I had an 8 week old baby and wanted to get back into exercise. I realised I needed specialist training to give myself the best start.

I chose to work with George as he had been recommended by a friend. It’s great that I am able to bring Edie, my little one, to the sessions and it’s a bonus that George is so confident with babies and will pick her up if needed, allowing me to focus on the exercises.

Since joining, the gap between my stomach muscles has closed and my stomach is becoming more toned. I’ve also noticed a massive difference in the strength of my pelvic floor.

George allows you to swap session times if you need to which is a huge help as children can be unpredictable. It means we can all continue to work towards our goals, even after a night of no sleep! I am really enjoying the classes.

I HAD LOST A LOT OF STRENGTH AND STRUGGLED TO PICK MY SON UP EASILY – I AM STRONGER AND LOVE THE FEELING OF HAVING WORKED OUT AGAIN

Before pregnancy I used to do quite a bit of exercise including a bootcamp and running regularly. Post pregnancy I felt that I’d lost a lot of strength but especially core strength. My son is on the heavier side and I was starting to struggle to pick him up easily.

I was unsure about doing postnatal exercise with a relatively young male – my reservations were unfounded!! George is very friendly, motivating and knows what he is doing. I love being able to take my son to the sessions and I know that if he gets really upset that George will carry him round rather than just leaving him on the mat.

My Biggest result is improved strength – I feel like I am keeping up with my son’s weight gain. I love the feeling of having worked out again and to know that I’ve done that safely postnatally. I love the sessions!!

I WAS VERY UNFIT AND FELT MY BODY AND SPIRIT WAS BROKEN. I HAD NO IDEA WHERE TO START – NOW I AM STRONGER THAN I WAS BEFORE I WAS PREGNANT AND I AM CONFIDENT WITH THE WAY I LOOK AND THAT I CAN ACHIEVE MY GOALS

Before I started working with George I was very unfit and broken both in body and spirit really! Two pregnancies in 3 years had left my body not feeling at all like my own, really over weight, very weak, no idea where to even start, I don’t think I really believed I would ever get back to feeling like myself, that I was going to be stuck in the podgy mum territory forever.

I’d never done any weight based exercises or ‘circuit training’ type activities and I was a bit worried everyone else would be really fit. I was also a bit worried about the accountability of having a trainer to tell me what i should be doing. All three of these things were totally unfounded – the exercises, the people and George are all brilliant.

It has been really inspiring working with George. I can lift weights and do exercises now that I would never have tried before. It’s so much more than just turning up and doing the sessions, I feel really supported and like George really cares about us achieving our goals.

I like the Facebook group, all the encouragement to eat better and believe in ourselves has made a massive difference to me. I now set myself a new goal each month, I am slowly losing weight – and I don’t get disheartened by how slow it is anymore, it is coming off but I am getting stronger and healthier all the time.

The best results I have achieved are feeling strong, probably stronger and more stable than I was before I got pregnant and even though I still have quite a bit of weight to lose, my body feels capable now. And I have so much more confidence in myself both with how I look (a little bit) and also that I can achieve my goals.

I’d like to say being able to bring the babies is amazing and makes getting fit achievable. Texting George my food really helped and I would definitely say doing 2 sessions a week is a must.

I WAS HAPPY WITH MY BODY BUT WANTED TO FEEL FITTER AND HAVE MORE ENERGY – I CAN NOW PLAY WITH MY 3YO WITHOUT GETTING TIRED.

Before starting the post natal exercise membership I was happy enough with my post natal body but wanted to feel fitter and have more energy. I didn’t know if I would be motivated enough to keep up with the sessions Working with George has been really positive. I actually enjoy the sessions….kind of!!! I find George knowledgeable, supportive and really understanding of the needs of the women he works with.

It’s great as now, after coming to the sessions, I can throw my nearly 3 year old daughter around and play for much longer without getting tired.

It’s great to be able to take the babies and George is really good with them allowing us to get on with the exercises. George is generally a really personable bloke and I think women of all ages, shapes and sizes feel very comfortable with him.

I WANTED TO FIND A POST NATAL EXERCISE CLASS THAT WASN’T BORING AND MADE ME FEEL LIKE I HAD WORKED HARD. I WAS WORRIED IT WOULD BE MORE LIKE A MUMS’ GROUP MORE THAN AN EXERCISE CLASS – FROM THE FIRST CLASS I HAVE FELT LIKE I HAVE WORKED HARD AND FEEL ENERGISED AFTER EVERY SESSION.

Before joining George’s group I felt I needed to get some good exercise but I couldn’t find a regular time to get childcare. It was probably more for mental health than physical need to be honest.

Previous postnatal exercise had been very gentle and boring and I really wanted a workout that felt like I’d worked hard and done it for me without thinking about pregnancy, I was a little worried it would be more like a mum’s group rather than an exercise class.

From the first class I’ve felt like I’m there for me doing exercise for me but without having to compromise on what to do with Rose every week. I enjoy the exercise and Rose enjoys the music and having George there to chat to if she gets bored 🙂 I like that you make it as hard as you want to but I don’t have to worry about whether it’s safe for me. I feel like I’ve worked hard and completely energised afterwards.

It’s been amazing to do something for myself whilst also having a happy baby. I haven’t really taken the baby weight loss seriously yet but I’ve gotten stronger and feel better for it. I have learnt a lot about nutrition and how to exercise safely and I find myself taking that on board and applying it now I’m ready for that too.

I STRUGGLED TO LOSE WEIGHT AND DIDN’T KNOW IF I WOULD STICK TO THE PLAN – I AM MORE CONFIDENT AND HAVE LOST 6 POUNDS IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS

I was struggling to lose weight and was eating only 1200 calories a day. I was getting frustrated. Before I started training with George I did not know whether I would stick to the plan and was questioning “Would it be a waste of money because I’d be bad the rest of the week?

Working with George has been really enjoyable. I have learnt new techniques and boosted my confidence with exercise and training.

My confidence in the gym has grown and I now feel motivated to get involved in future sporting events. I have also lost 6lbs in just over a couple of months which is a bonus.

Before I started my weight loss training with George I felt demotivated, depressed, had little confidence and felt ashamed of myself. At first I felt embarrassed to go and train with George because I was so overweight, but from our first session he made me feel completely comfortable and helped me get my mind focused on my weight loss goal.

I thought I knew a lot about training and nutrition, but George soon made me realise that I didn’t know it all, and that there were many changes I needed to make to maximise my results. We didn’t change everything all at once and I am glad as I don’t think I could have.

The sessions are tough and George doesn’t mess around when it comes to training and making sure you keep on top of your diet. He knows how to get you working at your best, but he’s also not the angry drill sergeant type either and is always considerate and friendly.

The diet plan he gave me has been incredibly useful and has been crucial for my weight loss, it isn’t unrealistic or depriving and keeps you full and eating tasty foods.

I have lost over four stone in four months since starting with George and am the fittest I have ever been. I feel far happier, more confident, more motivated and even feel sharper minded. I believe George genuinely cares about his clients achieving their goals and does whatever he can to help them. He definitely goes beyond what is expected of him and consistently goes the extra mile. I think all these things really make him stand out from other trainers and I am confident in saying he is the best trainer I have ever met.
